My career plans are centred in the information technology industry. I would like to go into network consultancy or systems analysis. My interest in computers has come from an early age when I was given a small Spectrum computer that I learned to program on. Since then, my fascination has grown to the point where I have several computers. A degree course in the area of computing will further my knowledge and understanding of computers and so put me in good stead for my chosen career.ðø][+Èá¦forum.pre-mbaclub.com{P×@La

I currently study computing at A level, which I do not find hard and understand easily. I also study maths and psychology, with further maths at AS level. I do well in my maths classes and enjoy them a lot. I find psychology hard work but keep on top and I am doing quite well. I chose computing at A level because it seemed natural for my interest and abilities. I chose maths because I enjoy the subject and do well in it. I think my enjoyment stems from its nature of applying logical methods in order to solve problems. By contrast, psychology was a step into unknown territory. I chose it because of an interest in human behaviour that I have; something which crosses over into the human interface aspects of computing.ðø][+Èá¦forum.pre-mbaclub.com{P×@La

I have a lot of experience with many computer systems that will help me in a degree course. I have two IBM compatibles of my own, an Amiga, and still my old Spectrum. I also have experience of manyoperating systems and some network operating systems as well; these are Amiga Workbench, Atari's TOS, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows NT Server, Linux, FreeBSD and shortly Sun's Solaris Unix. I can program in Pascal, Basic, Visual Basic, C, some Perl and am currently learning C++. I can also 'program' with HTML and have my abilities on show at my own web site with software that I have written downloadable, Windows 95 tips and a Windows 95 networking walk-through. I have helped the computer technicians at my college solve some problems in the college computers. I have also offered my assistance in the roll out of Windows 95 and the Novell NetWare client over the host of new computers that have recently arrived and I am eager to get under way. I have helped the students' union at a party recently by setting up a computer system to project real-time interpretations of the music being played onto a wall using a program called Cthugha. It was a big success and I was pleased with the results.ðø][+Èá¦forum.pre-mbaclub.com{P×@La

In my spare time I enjoy listening to most kinds of music. I go to many gigs, often played by local bands or friends' bands. I have taught myself to play the piano and enjoy playing Rock and Roll, Classical but mostly Rag Time and Blues. I also enjoy composing on the piano and also making music with my computer using professional music packages. I cycle on my mountain bike just about anywhere that I can. I enjoy writing short stories but can rarely find the time to indulge myself in this area since starting my A levels. I enjoy reading many subjects, especially science fiction and physics. I am a very logical person. I am a fast learner and work hard. I have good mental stamina and concentration.ðø][+Èá¦forum.pre-mbaclub.com{P×@La
